In the 2nd half of January 2024, the Carthage College Wind Orchestra traveled to Japan on tour. Here we are now!
As one of the elected journalists, I tried to informally interview a couple of people at the end of every day so we could all remember some of the unique experiences—both personal and shared—that made the trip so special.
In each interview, I asked the person to describe the day in 5 words or less and talk about a favorite moment, challenge, and cultural moment from the day (that last category being anything that felt unique to the culture or people we were interacting with). In addition, they were welcome to throw any quotes from the day at me or contribute miscellaneous thoughts they wanted to share with me, and I asked some specific additional questions when it felt right to.
